By this we mean there's no excuse for a badly coded site that hasn't been built to the standards of the moment. However, a properly produced website should really be termed as 'search engine friendly', the 'optimisation' part is often not on the website at all.
Search engine optimisation is a specialist business all of it's own. It's basically marketing with an in depth knowledge of how Google works and what will help your site rise to the top of the results. It involves obtaining great back links from high ranking sites, writing articles relevant to the search terms you're aiming for and a lot more - it's an ongoing process that, if done properly, takes time and produces lasting positive results.
Beware of web design companies that offer cheap SEO add-ons. You shouldn't be able to just buy the SEO version of a site from someone. If you can, it's only because the 'non-SEO' version isn't done properly.
With this in mind, we don't offer an SEO add-on at all. The Google friendliness is baked right into your shiny new website anyway.
And we're web designers, not online marketers. These are professions that, although linked, should be seen as separate specialist skills. So if you have a need for some serious ongoing work that will boost your website to the top of the rankings let us know and we'll put you in touch with the people who can. They'll be able to help you with:
- Search Engine Optimisation
- Social Media Marketing
- Online Marketing, Blogging & Pay-per-click
- Digital Brand Management and more
Remember, don't be tricked into paying for a Google friendly website when it should be so as a matter of course.
